WOODBRIDGE, VA.  – Prince William County Police report that on February 24th at 9:53AM, detectives from the Special Victims Unit began a joint investigation with Child Protective Services into a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred at a residence in the 4000 block of Forestdale Ave in Woodbridge, Va., between September 1st and November 28th of 2014. The investigation revealed that the victims, now a 16-year-old female juvenile and 14-year-old female juvenile, were sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance, on more than one occasion during that time frame. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. 

Arrested on February 24th:

Rene REYES-MORALES, 43, of 4000 block of Forestdale Ave in Woodbridge

Charged with 3 counts of aggravated sexual battery

Court date: pending | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

WOODBRIDGE, VA. – On February 23th at 10:47PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13500 block of Princedale Dr. in Woodbridge, Va., to investigate a domestic assault. The victim, a 33 year old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in verbal argument which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and pushed her into a nearby wall.  At that point, the accused displayed a knife and held it up to the victim’s throat before striking the wall above her with the knife.  No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without incident.

Police seek suspect Chris Leroy Downs after finger-biting led to knife attack

MANASSAS, VA. – Prince William County police report that they are looking for Chris Downs after a close encounter of the screaming and biting kind.  Police say that on February 23rd at 10:20PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11900 block of Hilltop Dr. in Manassas, Va., to investigate an assault. The victim, a 43-year-old female resident of Manassas, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in verbal argument which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and pushed her onto a nearby couch. While on the couch, the accused began to shake the victim before biting one of her fingers. Three other occupants of the home attempted to separate both parties. At that point, the accused pulled out a knife and attempted to cut one of the other occupants. No contact was made. The accused was eventually removed from the home and police were contacted. The initial victim sustained a wound to her finger. Other minor injuries were reported. A police K-9 and a Fairfax County police helicopter searched for the suspect. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused.

Described as a white male, 5’6”, 165lbs with a medium build, blue eyes, graying beard and bald

Wanted for 1 count of malicious wounding, 1 count of attempted malicious wounding, and 2 counts of assault & battery

Reckless Handling of a Firearm

WOODBRIDGE, VA.,– On February 23rd at 5:27PM, officers responded to the area of Smoketown Rd and Old Bridge Rd in Woodbridge to investigate a shots fired call. The caller reported to police that they were waiting in traffic behind a blue, 4-door sedan when the driver displayed a handgun outside of their window and fired a round into a nearby wooded area. The firearm was never pointed at the caller or any other person. There was a business in close proximity of where the round was fired. No property damage or other complaints were reported. Officers checked the area and located a shell casing in the roadway.

Residential Burglary

WOODBRIDGE, VA. – On February 23rd at 4:29PM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 14300 block of Westminster Ln. in Woodbridge, Va., to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5:00PM on February 20th and 4:29PM on February 23rd. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. A gaming console, laptop, camera and necklace were reported missing.
