Convenient and Affordable Downtown-to-Downtown Service up and down the Northeast Corridor

Amtrak offers daily round-trip service to Lynchburg, VA, as well as hourly morning service from Richmond, VA. These two services* make it easy to travel from central Virginia to anywhere in the Northeast Corridor.

New Service Expanded to Norfolk, VA

Norfolk residents can experience the return of reliable train service to the city. For the first time in 35 years, Amtrak train service will originate in Norfolk, with new departures connecting passengers to destinations north of the city, giving our travelers more benefits while the existing Amtrak bus service between Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Newport News continues to run.

Northeast Regional trains offer a comfortable and enjoyable way to travel throughout the Northeast Corridor and points beyond. CafΓ© Cars offer appetizing sandwiches, salads, snacks and hot and cold beverages, including a variety of wine, beer and soda. In our popular Quiet Car, where cell phones are silent and conversation is kept to a minimum, you can completely relax throughout the ride.

In Business Class, you’ll enjoy extra legroom, a complimentary newspaper and a beverage in the CafΓ© Car with access to conference tables on a first-come, first-served basis.

Amtrak Shuttle Trains provide additional service between New Haven, CT and Springfield, MA.
