<p>POCOMOKE, MD. &#8212; Kenneth George White, 18, of 729 Camden Ave., Fruitland, Md., has been charged by Maryland State Police Detective R. Keidel with attempted first degree murder and other related charges for allegedly shooting a victim.</p>
<p>Worcester County Sheriff’s deputies’ report that a man who stopped to assist another motorist who had hit a deer was shot with a shotgun by White after an argument.</p>
<p>Deputies report that on January 30, 2015, Worcester deputies were dispatched to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and to the area of Five Bridges Road and Whitesburg Road for a reported shooting. Deputies interviewed the victim at the hospital who provided a detailed description of the incident. During the incident, the victim was shot twice after stopping to assist a motorist after striking a deer.</p>
<p>Detectives responded to attempt to reveal the circumstances that led to the shooting of a 21-year-old Eden man along the side of Whitesburg and Five Bridges roads in the Pocomoke Forest at about 11 p.m. Jan. 30, 2015.</p>
<p>Police report that Kenneth George White of 6803 Zion Church Road, Fruitland, Md., who was 17 and a minor when he allegedly collided with the deer, then twice shot the man who police described as a Good Samaritan that stopped at the scene of the collision.</p>
<p>White has been charged as an adult by law because the alleged crime involved the commission of a felony involving a firearm.</p>
<p>A less serious crime may have exempted White from being charged as an adult because he was an hour from his 18th birthday.</p>
<p>The 21-year-old victim was treated at Peninsula Regional Medical Center for injuries to his lower body that was sprayed with bird-shot, or pellets.</p>
<p>The victim, whose identity has not been released, was the passenger in a vehicle that stumbled upon the accident involving White and the deer, the detective said.</p>
<p>The victim approached White and an argument relating to the deer ensued, say police.</p>
<p>The victim was shot as he faced the suspect, then from behind as he ran back to the vehicle in which he was riding, police said. The victim and two companions in the vehicle followed the suspect to obtain a tag number. He was then driven to his residence where he called an ambulance that transported him to the hospital.</p>
<p>The hospital notified Wicomico County authorities, and the case was turned over to Worcester investigators because of the jurisdiction in which the shooting happened.</p>
<p>Fruitland police assisted Worcester investigators in locating White at his residence and conducting a search that led to the discovery of a shotgun police believe was used in the shooting.</p>
<p>White was charged by Maryland State Police TFC Goldman with failure to control his vehicle to avoid a collision on Nov. 20, 2014 at 4:11 pm. White was involved in a crash at the intersection of Mt. Hermon Road and Woodbrook Court in Salisbury while operating a 1994 Ford.</p>
<p>White faces a preliminary hearing on the serious attempted murder charges on Feb. 13, 2015 in Worcester County District Court in Snow Hill, Md. A taxpayer-provided Public Defender is representing him, according to court records.</p>
