MD&rpar; – The police have done their job and removed Brandon Borradaile from a home that he allegedly burglarized&comma; after a nine-hour standoff&period; They are also investigating a string of crimes he may have committed&period; What his family&comma; friends and business associates may be wondering is what set this young man who seemed to be enjoying his new job off on a path of destruction&quest; The key might be in a court date he had pending for March in which he possibly would be jailed for violation of probation and with that outcome&comma; perhaps the loss of his job&period; The victims of his crimes can&&num;8217&semi;t be too happy to have their homes invaded or auto stolen either so the only winners here are the criminal and his family&period; The police should be congratulated on handling a volatile situation in a professional manner and with no harm to either the suspect or any of the officers&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Here is the story&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Maryland State Police report that they successfully apprehended an Ocean City man after he refused to come out of a residence he was <strong>attempting to burglarize in Queen Anne&&num;8217&semi;s County<&sol;strong> on Dec&period; 22&comma; 2014&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The man is identified as <strong>Brandon Ross Borradaile<&sol;strong>&comma; 25&comma; of<strong> 9747 Golf Course Road in Ocean City<&sol;strong>&comma; Maryland&period; Borradaile was charged with first and third degree burglary and malicious destruction of property&period; He is being held at the Centreville Barrack for processing and was transported to the Queen Anne&&num;8217&semi;s County Court Commissioner&&num;8217&semi;s Office for an initial appearance&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>After a nine hour standoff with police&comma; Borradaile was apprehended by Maryland State Police at the residence he attempted to burglarize on Dec&period; 22nd&period; Police believe Borradaile is also responsible for a burglary on Friday&comma; December 19&comma; 2014 at a residence in the <strong>10&comma;000 block of Inlet Road in Ocean City<&sol;strong>&comma; where a blue Toyota Avalon was reported stolen&period; The Toyota Avalon is the same vehicle found in the driveway of the Stevensville home&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Shortly after 3&colon;30 p&period;m&period; on Dec&period; 22nd&comma; members of the State Police Special Tactical Assault Team Element entered the home in the<strong> 900 block of Bayside Drive in Stevensville<&sol;strong>&period; Borradaile was arrested without incident and was the only individual found inside the residence&period; There were no injuries sustained in the incident&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>At about 6&colon;30 a&period;m&period; this morning&comma; troopers from the <strong>Centreville barrack<&sol;strong> were dispatched to the residential community after a neighbor reported suspicious activity at the residence&period; The caller informed police about an unfamiliar vehicle observed in the driveway and a suspicious man walking around the house&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>When troopers arrived on the scene&comma; they observed broken glass in the sliding glass door in the back of the house&comma; indicating a possible illegal entry into the home&period; When troopers made verbal commands for Borradaile to exit the home&comma; he refused to cooperate with police and barricaded himself inside the residence&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Troopers identified the blue Toyota Avalon in the driveway as a stolen vehicle&period; The vehicle was reported stolen from a burglary in Ocean City&comma; Maryland last week during a burglary of another unoccupied home&period; Additional charges are pending further investigation of the <strong>Ocean City burglary<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Troopers with the assistance of deputies from the <strong>Queen Anne&&num;8217&semi;s County Sheriff Department<&sol;strong> established a perimeter and called for the <strong>Special Tactical Assault Team Element and State Police Hostage Recovery Team<&sol;strong> negotiators&period; The Maryland State Police Aviation Command responded to the scene to assist&comma; along with the Maryland State Police K-9 unit&comma; Office of the State Fire Marshal&comma; the Department of Natural Resources&comma; Chestertown Police Department and the <strong>Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A preliminary hearing has been set for Jan&period; 22&comma; 2015&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Borradaile had prior criminal involvement in Maryland with a guilty plea entered by him in Anne Arundel County District Court on May 5&comma; 2011 to a charge of theft&period; At the time he was living on Romancoke Road in Stevensville&period; As part of his plea agreement&comma; he was fined &dollar;500 with &dollar;257&period;50 of the fine suspended&period; Borradaile had been arrested by Anne Arundel County Police Officer Cruz-Miranda and he was represented by the Maryland Public Defender&comma; who is paid for by the taxpayers&period; As part of his plea agreement with the States Attorney&comma; he was given probation before judgment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>On Feb&period; 17&comma; 2012 criminal charges of theft and violation of probation were filed in Anne Arundel County District Court&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A plea deal on Sept&period; 11&comma; 2012 resulted in one of the theft charges being dropped but a charge of theft scheme required him to enter a guilty plea&period; Borradaile was ordered by Judge Spencer to pay &dollar;6&comma;297&period;55 in restitution for the stolen items and to be on probation until Sept&period; 11&comma; 2014&period; No fine&comma; no time&period; Court records show that he had violated probation again on June 27&comma; 2014&period; He was facing a trial for violation of probation on March 18&comma; 2015 in Anne Arundel County District Court&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Borradaile is medical supply salesman<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to postings on his Facebook page&comma; Borradaile gained employment earlier this year as a sales associate for a medical supply firm&period; His Facebook page shows that he posted from a number of cities around the nation&comma; detailing to friends and family about the positive aspects of his job&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>March 17&comma;
