Wilmington-Troopers are investigating an early morning robbery of a convenience store which has left a clerk with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, north of the City of Wilmington.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at approximately 3:00 a.m. as a male suspect armed with a handgun entered the 7-11 convenience store located at 4865 Governor Printz Boulevard, Wilmington.
The suspect confronted the 25 year old male employee located behind the sales counter, displayed the handgun and demanded money from the cash register. The employee was slow to comply with the suspect’s demands.
The suspect produced the handgun and fired one round, striking the victim in a lower extremity. The suspect removed cash from the register and fled the store on foot towards Rysing Drive. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to a lower extremity.
The suspect is described as a black male, unknown age, 5’10”-6’0” tall, 160-180 lbs average build. He was last seen wearing all dark clothing and armed with a handgun. No further physical or clothing description available. No surveillance photos available for release at this time.
Delaware State Police Robbery Detectives continue their investigation by conducting interviews, reviewing video surveillance, and collecting evidence at the crime scene, attempting to identify the suspect.
