HELL RIDE INTO TREE ON WOODSIDE ROAD

GAITHERSBURG, MD. (Aug. 31, 2014) Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continue to investigate a double fatal, single-vehicle collision that occurred early this morning in Gaithersburg.

The driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver is being identified as Thomas Christopher Collier, age 32, of the unit block of Delta Court in Gaithersburg.  The front-seat passenger is being identified as Daniel Lee Byron, age 26, of the same address.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department- Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a double fatal, single-vehicle collision that occurred early this morning in Gaithersburg.

At approximately 4:24 a.m., officers and Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the 22200 block of Woodfield Road for a single-vehicle collision. Arriving officers observed an overturned Ford Explorer.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2003 Ford Explorer was traveling south on Woodfield Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Explorer travelled into the northbound lanes of Woodfield Road, left the roadway, and struck a tree. The vehicle overturned before coming to rest.

The driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene. The rear-seat passenger, who was able to call 911, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The rear-seat passenger, who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, is being identified as Kobi Assaraf, age 26, of the 600 block of Rollins Avenue in Rockville.
