SEVERN, MD. — Anne Arundel County Police report that on Saturday April 11th 2015 at approximately 9:29pm, officers responded to a single vehicle fatal motor vehicle crash on MD Route 32 eastbound near Annapolis Rd (MD-175) in Severn.
The investigation determined that a white Ford F-150 pickup truck was eastbound on MD Route 32 when it slid at a high rate of speed and left the right side of the roadway. The truck impacted several trees, ejecting the driver, before coming to rest and catching fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Fire Department personnel and taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Baltimore.
The cause of the collision appears to be excessive speed as the vehicle was the subject of a lookout for a reckless speeding vehicle just prior to the crash. The Traffic Safety section will be handling the investigation.
