The victim is identified as 23-year-old Brendan Munnerlyn of Myrtle Oak Court in Waldorf. The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Brandywine.

On July 17, 2014 at about 10:45 pm, patrol officers were called to the 16300 block of McKendree Road for a report of a single car collision.  A passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the driver of a Ford Mustang was headed eastbound on McKendree Road.  For reasons which remain unclear, the driver lost control, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole.  The deceased front passenger was ejected from the vehicle.  A rear passenger was also seriously injured and transported to a local hospital.  The driver was seen running from the car after the crash.  Investigators are now searching for an African American man, approximately 20 years old, 5’9” and 180 pounds.

Preliminarily, speed appears to be a factor.
