Immediately after the incident, he was bleeding heavily, but within the hour he had rounded up his mares and was back to grazing. ;

On Tuesday morning, N2BHS-AG was grazing with his mares, marking stud piles and wandering around the campground. The gash on his chest is in a position where it will continue to drain well as it heals. We will monitor N2BHS-AG in the coming days and weeks.

In this instance, the visitors were traveling slowly when they saw the horses. They were able to slow down enough that it probably prevented a much more serious injury to the horse. Please! We cannot emphasize enough the need to not only drive slowly around the horses, but to remain completely aware of your surroundings at all times. Just as with deer crossing the road, where there is one horse, expect another.
