LEXINGTON PARK, MD. — Maryland State Police report that on June 9, 2014 at approximately 2343 hours Maryland State Police patrol units from the Leonardtown Barrack and patrol units from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to 21614 Great Mills Rd, Lexington Park, St. Mary’s County, MD. for a reported stabbing.
Tfc Pitcher arrived on the scene and located the victim, Joseph Sephis Harrod, II in the parking lot suffering from a stab wound.
EMS from the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to the scene and subsequently flew the victim to a local area Trauma Center via MSP Trooper 7. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit also responded and conducted a K-9 scan of the area.
Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division-Central South Region investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Maryland State Police Forensic Science Division also responded and processed the crime scene.
Harrod is currently in critical condition at a nearby Trauma Center. The investigation continues.
