WALDORF, MD. — Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry reports that on Dec. 5 at 4:46 p.m., officers assigned to the CCSO Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at Aces High Tattoo Parlor in the 11700 block of Central Avenue in Waldorf after receiving information about drug sales at the shop. Through further investigation, detectives found $6,000 of suspected heroin, $1,200 worth of suspected marijuana, prescription medications, drug distribution paraphernalia, and a 12 gauge shotgun.

Detectives received information regarding a fraudulent prescription for Promethazine-Codeine in the name of “Victoria Myles” which was passed at a local pharmacy. Promethazine-Codeine is mixed with soda and is known on the street as “Purple Drank”. Detectives arrested Corey Richard Benford (Age 29 of Bowie, MD) for “Obtaining a Prescription by Fraud”. Suspect Benford is under investigation in other jurisdictions for the same criminal offenses. This investigation continues and additional charges are expected.

Maryland State Deputy Fire Marshal Caryn McMahon reports that the fire in the home of Howard and Dea Hawks consumed the house in the entirety, with damage and loss totaling $250,000 to the one-story rambler and contents. Only left standing for the family was their garage and outbuildings.
Murder USA: Melvin Edenilson Melendez Charged With Murder of Baby – A few hours later, Melendez called 911 to report the child had fallen out of bed and wasn’t breathing. An autopsy revealed injuries inconsistent with a fall and the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries. The medical examiner’s office has ruled this a homicide.

Digging up some cash for Christmas by Pawning Stolen Earth Auger
EASTON, MD. — According to Easton Police, on December 7, 2014 Sewell Lecompte Frey, Jr., 31, of Oxford, MD was charged on an arrest warrant from Dorchester County with theft less than $10,000.00 and appropriating property without consent. Frey is accused of renting an earth auger from E. S. Hubbard’s in Cambridge and failing to return the auger. Investigation revealed that Frey pawned the auger in DelMar, DE. The auger was valued at $1,200.00. Frey was released by the court commissioner.
