DUNDALK, MD. — (Commentary) — Another Maryland memory has been painted with bullets in spite of tough gun laws enacted by legislators in Annapolis hell-bent to take away gun rights from law-abiding citizens while criminals break the law to be armed and perpetrate crimes. ‘Empty-headed liberals’ doesn’t began to describe the insanity. Anti-gun nuts should simply post a sign in front of their homes that there are no firearms in the home due to their political beliefs.
GREAT MILLS, Maryland – An armed robber walked into the Quick Shop gas station and convenience store (former Wawa ) on Great Mills Road on March 9, 2015, at 9:06 PM, and robbed the clerk at gunpoint, report police. In addition, the dirtbag struck the clerk with his gun before leaving.
Lt. Bill Hargrove reports that that Kyle Loyd left the scene but was located a short time later by members of the Newark Police Street Crimes Unit. Loyd was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Newark Police Department.
The two story, wood framed single family dwelling was heavily damaged, which caused it to collapsed. A single adult female occupant was in the structure at the time of the fire and reported the fire to 911. Upon the dispatch of the fire, two local off duty Prince George’s County firemen arrived at the scene. They made entry into the structure, discovered a female occupant and removed her from the residence.
The initial police report stated that the Jeep was traveling eastbound on Rt. 50 and turned north/bound onto Sixty Foot Road and was in the process of crossing Rt. 50 at about 7:40 pm. The police reported that the Mazda was traveling westbound on Rt. 50 when it t-boned the Jeep in the passenger side of the vehicle in the intersection. Police said that alcohol was not a factor but in the case of fatal wrecks, a blood sample taken from both drivers is required and that test would determine whether any drugs or alcohol were in the systems of either operator, even though the initial observations of the troopers on the scene reveal no obvious signs of substances.
The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that the victim and the suspect became involved in a verbal altercation at the location. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times and then fled the scene.

The Coast Guard rescues two people Sunday, March 8, 2015, from a sinking boat approximately 35 miles southeast of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. The Coast Guard received an EPIRB alert from the vessel and contacted watchstanders at Shaw Air Force Base who contacted the South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing who confirmed the location of the vessel with the help of F-16s conducting training offshore. Consequently, the officers conducted an investigative traffic stop on the vehicle, a blue 1999 Lincoln Town Car, near Costco in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. Inside of the vehicle, officers located .380 shell casings in plain view along with a .380 semi-automatic handgun, which is the same caliber handgun used in the shots fired incidents. Ballistics testing on the gun and casings preliminarily indicates a match. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle as identified as Hong Young, 35, of 4909 Daisy Creek Terrace in Beltsville, Maryland. Young was taken into custody and subsequent interviews along with the evidence recovered from the vehicle confirmed that he was responsible for all five shots fired incidents in the region.
On March 4, 2015, at 8:15 pm, a woman was walking in the 3800 block of 38th Avenue in Cottage City when the suspect grabbed her from behind, put a knife to her throat and attacked her in a secluded area off the street. On Thursday, detectives were able to identify Diggs as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. Friday afternoon, the PGPD’s Fugitive Squad captured Diggs in Waldorf, where he was arrested without incident.
