NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Newport News Police report that an unidentified male was found shot to death at a residence on Chestnut Avenue in Newport News, Va.

Police say that on March 16, 2018, at 10:10 PM, Newport News Communications received a call of a possible burglary in progress in the 5000 block of Chestnut Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a male subject inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics. The deceased male appears to be an adult but has not been positively identified as of yet.

Police say that a female arrived at the residence and located the male. Police were immediately contacted and the call was dispatched as a possible burglary in progress. Officers checked the residence when they arrived and didn’t locate anyone else inside. There is no suspect information at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.

Gunfight between teens leaves two shot but only wounded

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. Police report that the outcome of a call for a shooting is zero dead and two wounded. The first wounded was taken to a hospital in an ambulance. The second victim, a 17-year-old male, walked into a local area hospital with a neck wound. Police say the teen is in stable condition.

Police say that on March 15, 2018, at 3:23 PM, Newport News Communications received a call of a shooting in the 100 block of Jefferson Point Lane.

 Shortly after arriving on scene, officers located a 19-year-old male Yorktown resident who was shot in the leg. He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Police are also searching the area for a second victim that was shot during this same incident.

MURDER USA TAYLEN PIERCE HAS BEEN ARRESTED.

Taylen Pierce charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Pierce shot and wounded an eleven-year-old girl.

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Police say that a man wanted for a shooting of a child in January has been arrested. Police say that they took Taylen Pierce into custody on March 14, 2018, and charged him with Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony. He was also charged with Assault on a Family Member from an unrelated incident.

On January 12th, 2018, at approximately 9:22 PM, Newport News Police were dispatched to the 13200 block of Aqueduct Drive in reference to gunshots heard. At approximately 9:23 PM, officers received additional information that an 11-year-old female was shot. The victim was with several other subjects when the shooting occurred. Officers rendered aid to the victim until medics arrived and transported her to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

After further investigation, warrants were obtained on 18-year-old Taylen Pierce of the 100 block of Heritage Way in Newport News for Malicious Assault and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
