Alleged Junkie Rita Mary Reece arrested twice in a week for DUI-drugs by Maryland State Police after busted by St. Mary’s Deputy for DUI drugs a week earlier

LEXINGTON PARK, MD. — For anyone who believes that the justice system delivers any protection for the public from junkies, drunk drivers, and drug addicts, then this story is for you.

The Maryland State Police report that Rita Mary Reece was arrested for DUI twice within a couple of days. Reece, of 19831 Point Lookout Road, Lexington Park, Md., was charged by Maryland State Trooper Coppedge on Sept. 22, 2017, as she drove a 2002 Honda on Midway Drive near Nicolette Park in the Patuxent Homes at 4:33 pm.  She was also charged with negligent driving and endangering property life and person in her alleged careless escapade. A charge of driving while impaired by a deadly substance as well as operating while impaired with a child in the vehicle, without a seatbelt, which could have come in handy if Reece had rammed another vehicle, a power pole or even taken out the front of a home. Since Reece was also charged with operating the Honda without insurance, any impact with another vehicle or building would lay all costs on her victim.

Charges of ignoring a red flashing traffic signal on Rt. 246 and Tri-Community Way; using tags registered to another vehicle; operating an unregistered vehicle; driving while impaired by her favorite drug of choice; theft and possession of drugs other than marijuana were placed against when she was arrested on Sept. 20, 2017, by Maryland Trooper Opirhory.

Arrested for driving while impaired by drugs by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Budd on Sept. 13, 2017, Reece was operating her Honda on Midway Driver at the intersection of North Essex Drive in Lexington Park.

Charged by St. Mary’s Deputies Corcoran and Maguire with multiple counts of burglary and property destruction on Nov. 4, 2016, Reece entered a guilty plea on June 2, 2017, to intoxicated endangerment and the other charges were dropped. THE DEAL: in return for a guilty plea, Reece was given a 90 vacation away from drugs in the Hotel St. Mary’s.  Reece was supposed to start her probation period of two years on Sept. 25, 2017, but it appears her being released from jail and her quest for more drugs to ingest might trigger her return to the slammer.

Maryland records show that Reece was convicted of 2^nd-degree home invasion in Wayne County, Michigan and has absconded from probation. The date of that offense is Sept. 19, 2015, and the date of conviction Nov. 4, 2015.

St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz dropped five charges of altering a prescription of a drug, removing a label, possession of drugs and paraphernalia on May 5, 2015, when arrested by St. Mary’s Deputy Lacey Johnson on Sept. 4, 2015. Reece was also charged with DUI-drugs and reckless driving in a wanton and dangerous manner on Point Lookout Road near Leonardtown, Md. St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz dropped all the charges.

A guilty plea to her arrest by St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Kirkner on Dec. 8, 2009, for credit card fraud, a taxpayer-provided free attorney Reid Nokes and attorney Victoria Kunkoski worked a plea deal with St. Mary’s State Attorney Fritz on March 24, 2012.  THE DEAL: in return for her guilty plea to credit card fraud, seven other counts of fraud and theft were dropped and she was sentenced to 18 months in jail, where she avoided being sent to a Maryland prison and could serve her time in the Hotel St. Mary’s.
