Chesapeake Bay Drug Task Force announces Operation “Pick ‘em Up”

LANCASTER, VA. – A major roundup of alleged drug dealers took place recently in a two-county effort, along with the Virginia State Police.

The Chesapeake Bay Narcotics Task Force, consisting of the sheriff’s offices in Lancaster and Northumberland County along with the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Drug Enforcement Division, took to the streets with their third roundup for 2017.

Officers from these agencies recently charged 18 offenders on a total of 34 charges, all narcotics related. There was a total of 8 misdemeanor and 26 felony charges placed.

Lancaster Sheriff Patrick McCranie and Northumberland Sheriff Doc Lyons announced the following charges:

  • Shadonta Beane, 21 of Merry Point, 2 counts of distribution of cocaine.
  • On April 23, 2016, Beane was found guilty of assault and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 25 days of the sentence suspended.  On May 25, 2016, Beane was found guilty of driving while revoked and suspended on a 2nd or more offense in Lancaster District Court. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 70 days suspended.
  • Damien Dandridge, 20 of Lancaster, felony distribution of marijuana & grand larceny
  • Dasmine Fisher, 26 of Weems, felony distribution of marijuana
  • Cliff R. Dawson, Jr., 27 of Kilmarnock, distribution of a schedule 1-11 controlled narcotic & distribution of cocaine
  • Judson McGuire, 51 of Irvington, 3 counts of distribution of marijuana & 2 counts of abuse/neglect of children
  • Deonta Merrill, 19 of Lancaster, distribution of a schedule 1-11 controlled narcotic & abuse/neglect of children
  • Tawan M. Rice, 40 of Heathsville, distribution of cocaine & a schedule 1-11 controlled narcotic
  • Robert Shermer, 27 of Virginia Beach, 2 felony counts of distribution of marijuana & 1 misdemeanor count of distribution of marijuana
  • Juante Sutton, 18 of Kilmarnock, felony distribution of marijuana
  • Jamal Waddy, 26 of Kilmarnock, distribution of a schedule 1-11 controlled narcotic & possession of cocaine
  • Justeyn Howard, 30 of Heathsville, distribution of cocaine & sale of narcotics on-near school property, 4 counts of possession of a controlled narcotic
  • Unnamed juvenile, distribution of an imitation controlled substance
  • Millecia Mitchell, 20 of Heathsville, possession of marijuana
  • Keith Richardson, 23 of Kilmarnock, distribution of marijuana & possession of marijuana

There are outstanding indictments for the following individuals:

  • Gerald S. Baliles, 21 of White Stone
  • Deandra L. Lucas, 22 of Lewisetta

Lancaster County Sheriff Incident Reports and Arrests

July 31, 2017:

Matthew T. Moss II, 20 of Windmill Point Road, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants & possession of marijuana.

Tyron C. Dandridge, 18, of Topping, was arrested for 2 counts of sexual battery.

Staff responded to the 3700 block of Windmill Point Road for the report of a single vehicle traffic crash; responded to the 200 block of Carlton Lane for the reported theft of items from a mailbox; responded to a walk-in report of the theft of property; responded to the area of Norwood Church Road for the report of a single vehicle traffic crash; responded to the 800 block of Chesapeake Drive for the report of annoying/obscene phone calls.

Aug. 1, 2017:

Staff responded to the 100 block of Buttercup Lane for the report of a possible missing person; responded to the 4500 block of Irvington Road for the report of vandalism to a business sign; responded to the 300 block of White Hall Road for the reported theft of items taken out of farm equipment; responded to the 100 block of North Main Street for the report of a disorderly subject; responded to the 100 block of Clark Road for the reported destruction of a mailbox.

Aug 2

Deandra L. Lucas, 22 of Lewisetta, was arrested for the distribution of marijuana and possession of

marijuana.

Terrance M. Clarke, 23 of Gaskins Road, was arrested for felony obstructing justice.

Responded to the 200 block of North Main Street for the report of subject threatening another & acting disorderly; responded to the area of Campbell Road for the report of a suspicious vehicle; responded to the 100 block Millenbeck Road for the report of annoying/obscene phone calls; responded to the area of River Road for the report of a reckless driver; responded to the 100 block of School Street to assist KPD with the report of threats made toward another; responded to the 200 block of Waverly Avenue for the report of a fight in progress involving several juveniles; responded to the 11200 block of Jessie Dupont Highway for the report of subject in the middle of the highway dressed in dark clothing.

Aug 3

Rashad J. Foote, 29 of Wilson Lane, was arrested for the felony of rape.

Staff responded to the 100 block Windmill Point Road for the report of a verbal disagreement; responded to the 200 block of Campbell Road for the report of a domestic disturbance; responded to the Lively area for the report of a vehicle driving recklessly on Mary Ball Road; responded to the 500 block of Black Stump Road for the report subject standing in the middle of the roadway.

Aug 4

Tawanda L. Anderson, 36 of Burgess, was arrested for profane/threatening language over the public airway.

Jonte A. Towles arrested on a warrant by Lancaster Sheriff’s Deputies

Jonte A. Towles, 21 of Merry Point Road, was arrested for failing to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Bridge for the report of a reckless driver; responded to a walk-in report of a civil issue dealing with the sale of an automobile; responded to the 100 block of Merry Point Road for the report of large fireworks being set off and a concern for a fire hazard; responded to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of 3 males involved in a fight in progress.

Aug 5

Staff responded to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred at the 2300 block of Merry Point Road; responded to the area of Crawford’s Corner Road for the report of a single vehicle traffic crash with injuries; responded with KPD to the 100 block of Harris Drive for the report of an assault on a juvenile; responded to the200 block of Cottage Cove Way for the report of indecent exposure by beach goers; responded to the White Stone area for the report of a possible intoxicated driver coming off the bridge; responded to the 200 block of James Cove Landing for the report of gunshots heard in the vicinity.

Aug 6

Terrance A. Taylor, Jr., 25 of Riverwood Drive, was arrested for disorderly conduct, giving false identification to law enforcement & driving after the forfeiture of license.

Staff responded to the area of Weems Road for the report of loud music at a large party and subjects driving recklessly; responded to the 300 block of Riverwood Drive for the report of a wanted person being pursued on foot by law enforcement; responded to the 100 block of School Street to assist KPD with report of gunshots near the apartments; responded to the 200 block of Tabbs Cove Lane for the report of a domestic disturbance; responded to the 100 block of Sandlin Drive for the report of a domestic disturbance with injuries; responded to the 400 block of White Chapel Road for the report of an aggravated assault with a weapon.
