<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">FREDERICKSBURG, VA. Sheriff Roger L. Harris announced the arrest of Lionel Whiting of King George VA; charging him with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm in the commission of a felony and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On 05/18/17 Deputies and Detectives responded to the 11000 block of Roslyn Drive in reference to a possible shooting. It was discovered that a 49-year-old male had suffered a single shotgun blast to his posterior. He was transported to a local Emergency Room, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives later learned that the victim arrived at the residence of his former girlfriend to remove some of his personal belongings. At some point, a dispute ensued between the victim and Whiting, who is the current boyfriend of the female resident. Police say that Whiting produced a shotgun and fired a single shot into the victim. Whiting was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.</span></p>
