ABINGDON, MD. — An early morning fire on May 2, 2017, left a boat cover structure and multiple boats destroyed at the Otter Creek Marina, reports the Maryland Fire Marshal Oliver Alkire. The cause of the fire is under investigation and information about the fire is being solicited. The arson hotline is 800 492 7529.

The fire took place at about 1:39 am and was brought under control by 30 firefighters from the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company in about 45 minutes.

Damage to boats was set at $100,000, and another $100,000 of damage was assessed to the structure.
