MURDER USA – DOUBLE DOSE OF DEATH IN HEATHEN HAVEN – 32 killings in Pretty Gory County – so far in 2016

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD. — The PG Count Police Homicide Unit is investigating a double homicide this morning in District Heights. The victims are 27-year-old Samuel Paige of 4126 Suitland Road, Apt. 301, in Suitland, Md., and 26-year-old Kevin Muse of Gateway Boulevard in District Heights. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

At about 4:30 am, officers with the District Heights Police Department and the Prince George’s County Police Department responded to the 6500 block of Halleck Street for a shooting. The officers found Paige shot inside of a crashed car. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Muse was found a short distance away from the car. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Detectives are working to identify a motive and the suspect(s).

Samuel Joshua Nathan Paige had appeared in Prince Georges County District Court on May 5, 2015, Prince Georges County Angela Alsobrooks dropped five counts of assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.  Dropping charges in such a fashion is often indicative of a defendant having traded information on drug dealers to prosecutors in exchange for easy treatment. Paige had never been charged in Maryland for any other criminal charges however his driving record reflected a disdain for rules, resulting in dropped charges and pleas.

MURDER USAKevin James Muse, of 6404 Gateway Blvd., District Heights, Md., was charged in Prince Georges County Circuit Court on July 2, 2013, with possession of marijuana and given Probation Before Judgement on Oct. 24, 2013.

Muse was charged with armed robbery, assault, used of a gun in a felony, robbery and theft on Jan. 11, 2009. The charges were dropped by the Prince Georges County States Attorney on Aug. 3, 2009.

“This car and the individuals in the car were targeted,” District Heights Police Chief Elliott Gibson told NBC4 News.

NBC 4 reports:

Sources said a third person is believed to have been in the car and survived the shooting.

Muse was a father, neighbor Randy Thomas said. 

“Real good guy. He never caused no problem. He never gave anybody any kind of problems,” he said. “It’s sad to see him go like that, knowing that he just got a baby and stuff like that at home.”

No information on a suspect was released immediately.

“Our investigation is continuing, and as events present themselves, we’ll share them,” Gibson said.
