Boozing Bungling Burglar Caught Napping by Remote Security Camera

RESTON, VA. — Fairfax County Police reports that a resident of the 700 block of Seneca Road checked his home security camera to find that a bungling burglar had broken into the home of the resident and fallen asleep. The snoozing burglar was discovered when the cops showed up.
Police say that on March 21, 2016, at 5:19 a.m. the homeowner was away from home and checking his security cameras when he saw an unknown male trying to enter the home. Officers arrived and found 25-year-old Christopher Jones, of Reston, passed out in the basement. They also found a vehicle registered to Jones, not far from the home. The vehicle had struck a mailbox and then become stuck in a ditch. Jones was charged with unlawful entry and hit and run.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: 5800 block of Banning Place. 3/21/16, 3:22 p.m. A resident reported that someone took keys from an unlocked car in front of the home and unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry into the home. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-40 years old, around 6 feet tall, with a thin build. He had short hair, blondish/gray, possibly balding. He was wearing a red shirt.
BURGLARY: 11400 block of Purple Beech Drive. 3/21/16, 5:51 p.m. A resident reported that someone entered the residence and took property.
ROBBERY: 7000 block of Manchester Boulevard. 03/21/16, 9:45 a.m. A suspect entered the Pizza Hut, displayed a handgun and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and there were no injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic, 25-28 years old and around 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing.
