Recent crimes reported by Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry which occurred near the scene of the murder of drug dealer Lydell Walter Wood on Rooks Head Place in St. Charles

The following is a sample of recently reported crimes in the area of St. Charles in Waldorf within a few minutes’ walk or drive of the murder scene where drug dealer Lydell Walter Wood was gunned down in the street in broad daylight, in gangster-style fashion usually committed in Southeast Washington and Baltimore.: Charles County Sheriff’s detectives have identified the victim of the Jan. 6 fatal shooting on Rooks Head Place as Lydell Walter Wood, 29, of Waldorf. Wood was shot and killed during a confrontation in the parking lot of the neighborhood in which he resided. Detectives are continuing to work leads and ask anyone with information to call Det. J.
