Convicted felon nabbed with car-load of alleged Dirtbags, loaded gun and lots of heroin treats ready for sale</h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">NEWARK, DEL. – Do the police really expect that a convicted felon packing a loaded handgun and ninety nicely packaged consumer packages of heroin would give his correct name when requested? Do suspects in shoplifting really expect to lollygag down a highway on a Sunday evening unmolested by police when the alleged Dirtbag morons are driving an old heap that was spotted as a getaway car? These questions and more were answered by the Delaware State Police, who provided the following information:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Delaware State Police have charged a man with weapon and drug possession offenses as a result of traffic stop east of Newark.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The incident occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015, as a trooper on routine proactive patrol on eastbound Kirkwood Highway in the area of Meadowood </span>Drive<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, observed a maroon Mazda Mz3 directly in front of his patrol vehicle.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police say that computer checks of the registration revealed possible shoplifting suspects. The trooper activated all of his patrol vehicle’s emergency equipment, and the suspect vehicle pulled over into the parking lot of Vicente’s Pizza restaurant in the area of Kirkwood Hwy and Wollaston Avenue. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">All occupants of the vehicle were contacted and gave all their identifications except for a passenger, Khaliq D. Scott, 23 of Wilmington, who was seated in the left side rear passenger’s seat who subsequently gave a false name. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police say that Khaliq D. Scott was requested to exit the vehicle to be detained until his identification became known and was placed in the patrol vehicle. The trooper smelled a strong odor of marijuana on Scott’s person. The trooper conducted a search the of the suspect’s vehicle as well as the suspect and located a loaded handgun and several bundles of Heroin (90 individual bags) totaling 1.35 grams with a single hypodermic needle that had been shoved under the suspect’s seat.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Khaliq D. Scott was taken into custody and transported to Troop 6 and was charged with Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 1 Quantity with Aggravating Factor, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited Prior Violent Crime Felony, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Impersonation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution for failure to post $103,290 cash bond.</span></p>
