SALISBURY, MD. — Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that on Nov. 27, 2015 at 3:21 AM a deputy responded to a reported domestic related altercation at a residence on the 31000 block of Old Ocean City Road.

Upon arrival, the deputy met with two subjects who were visibly intoxicated.

During the investigation into the reported incident, the deputy learned that Teaira White, 34, of Salisbury, Md., reportedly assaulted her brother when she grabbed him around the neck. The deputy observed signs of injury on the victim that corroborated that account.

The deputy placed White under arrest for second-degree assault and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner released White on $20,000 unsecured bond.

Furtive couple turned out to be crack connoisseurs

SALISBURY, MD. — Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that on Nov. 27, 2015 at 5:07 PM a deputy stopped a vehicle on Salisbury Blvd. at Northwood Drive in Salisbury. Police say the vehicle was operated by Eugene Purnell, 54, of Berlin, Md., and was stopped for a seat belt violation.

The alleged observed furtive movement by Purnell and his passenger, Debra Ann Tawes, 37, of Salisbury, coupled with obvious anxiety about being stopped which led to the summoning of a WCSO Drug K9 team.

During a subsequent search the deputy located and seized what was identified as crack cocaine from the center console.
