ROAD RAGE ERUPTED INTO REDNECK RIOT

MT. AIRY, MD – The redneck family that riots together serves time together. Perhaps this family of fun-lovers who attacked a trooper will get a group discount on a lawyer. The leader of the pack that roughed up a trooper in a Walmart restroom entered a guilty plea to drug distribution one year ago. This attack will likely send her packing off to prison for violating her probation.

Maryland State Police have four suspects under arrest after a chaotic scene at a local store that ended with arrests and the recovery of brass knuckles and a knife.

Airy, MD. She was charged with disorderly conduct. She is currently being held at the Carroll County Detention Center awaiting an initial appearance before a court commissioner.

Trooper Johnathan Horner, 23, a four-year veteran of the Maryland State Police is currently assigned to the Westminster Barrack in Carroll County, Maryland. He was transported by emergency medical personnel to Carroll County General Hospital for the treatment of injuries sustained during the attack.

Just before 1:00 p.m. today, Trooper Horner responded to a call for service involving road rage. He arrived at the 200-block of E. Ridgeville Boulevard in Mt. Airy, Maryland and contacted the parties involved. Based on conflicting accounts of the events that lead to this complaint, Trooper Horner was unable to establish a clear aggressor in the road rage complaint.

During the investigation, a citizen began to film the encounter. Traci Conners verbally attacked, then physically assaulted the citizen. Trooper Horner attempted to stop the altercation at which time Jacob Conners attacked him. After attacking Trooper Horner, Jacob Conners ran off into the Walmart. Conners was located in the bathroom attempting to flush a set of brass knuckles and a knife in the toilet. After a brief struggle, Trooper Horner was able to place Jacob Conners under arrest and secure him with handcuffs.

In the meanwhile, Traci and Steven Conners both entered into the bathroom and attacked Trooper Horner. While on the ground, fighting off the attack, Trooper Horner was kicked in the head several times by Jacob Conners who was handcuffed.

Additional troopers arrived on the scene. All suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Carroll County Detention Center. Trooper Horner was transported to the Carrol County General Hospital for treatment.

Tracie Leigh Conners faces a court hearing in Carroll County on Jan. 27, 2016. Tracie Conners was found guilty of driving with a suspended registration on Sept. 1, 2015 and fined $150 in Frederick County District Court.

Tracie Leigh Conners entered a guilty plea on Nov. 10, 2014 in Montgomery County Circuit Court and Judge Ann S. Harrington laid down a sentence in the plea deal approved by Montgomery County States Attorney John McCarthy that provided for a suspended sentence of 3 years follow by probation of two years for possession with the intent to distribute drugs. Other drug charges involving prescription drugs were dropped by McCarthy.

Steven Conners charged by Montgomery County Police Officer R. Grapes with possession with the intent to distribute drugs on Aug. 17, 2014. In a plea deal with Montgomery County States Attorney John McCarthy, four drug charges were dropped on Nov. 21, 2014. Such a disposition in a drug dealing case usually indicates that the prosecutor dropped the charges in return for information being provided to police on drug dealers up the food chain.

Temper tantrums apparently run on both sides of the Conners family. Steven Conners Sr. was convicted of assault in Frederick County and sentenced on March 1, 2002, to seven years in prison with six of those years suspended.
