Phony tag, phony ID; real gun and drugs
DOVER, DEL. The Dover Police Department reports that they nabbed a wanted fugitive with open warrants who was packing pot and ammo for a 9 mm handgun.
Cpl. Mark Hoffman reports the traffic stop conducted on Oct. 20, 2015 at 1:33 pm with Delaware Probation and Parole pulled over a blue Chevrolet Tahoe in the area of S. DuPont Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. for a fictitious registration plate.
As a result of the traffic stop, the officers contacted Michael Neal. Neal provided the officers two fake names during the stop.
Evidently, the criminal class of Dover must pass around the valuable information that if the cops don’t buy the first phony name you throw out, just toss them another one!
Further investigation led to the discovery of Neal’s real name, and that he was had numerous warrants for his arrest.
Dover Police say that Neal was also found to be in possession of 3.4 grams of marijuana and two live 9mm ammunition rounds. Officers later discovered that Neal was staying at a local hotel.
A search of the room was conducted and a Walther P38 9mm handgun was found. T
The firearm contained the same make of ammunition as recovered on Neal’s person during preceding traffic stop. Neal was committed to JTVCC on $25,000 cash bond on the following charges:
-Possession of a Firearm by person convicted of 2 prior felonies
-Possession of ammunition by person prohibited
-Possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number
-Criminal Impersonation
-Possession of Marijuana
-Possession of Paraphernalia
