<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">WESTERNPORT, MD. (Oct. 2, 2015) &#8212; The Maryland Natural Resources Police report that the mountain boys are restless and stirring on the roads, fields and streams of Western Maryland.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A West Virginia man was charged in September with two counts of impaired driving as he tried to drive away from a store in Westernport.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Virgil Licugas Didawick, 56, of Elk Garden, W.V., was stopped by an NRP Officer Walter May who police report saw him stumble and fall on the side of his vehicle while stopped at Fair Price Market. The man was unable to perform field sobriety tests. He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to the Cumberland barrack of the Maryland State Police for a breathalyzer test, which he refused.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Didawick is scheduled to appear in Allegany District Court on a later date. If found guilty, he could be fined a maximum of $1,000 and have his license suspended for six months.</span></p>
<h1><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Joshua Sean Marsh DUI on the fly in McCoole</span></h1>
<p>MCCOOLE, MD. &#8212; Police say a Swanton man was charged with driving under the influence on<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> Sept. 19, 2015 at 12:20 a.m., when an officer stopped his vehicle for going 68 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 135 in McCoole.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Joshua Sean Marsh, 32, of 511 Lee Road in Swanton, Md., allegedly had slurred speech and failed field sobriety tests, and registered a blood alcohol content of .13, well over the legal limit of .08.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><a href="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Court-News-and-Arrests.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-8978" src="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Court-News-and-Arrests-300x210.jpg" alt="Court News and Arrests" width="300" height="210" /></a>He received three citations for impaired driving and one for speeding. He has not yet received a date to appear in Allegany District Court.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A previous DUI arrest of Joshua Sean Marsh in Garrett County by a Maryland State Trooper on Nov. 11, </span>2007<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, resulted in the Allegany County States Attorney dropping the charge in District Court on Feb. 28, 2008.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">During Domestic Violence charges with a Judge ordering him to stay away from a victim; Marsh worked out a plea deal with Allegany County States Attorney who put assault charges against Marsh on the Stet Docket on Sept. 21, 2010. Marsh was represented by the welfare attorney for this plea deal, who is paid by the taxpayers to defend those charged with criminal offenses.</span></p>

<h1><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Cop Nabs speeding probation violator on Backbone Mountain doing 100 mph</span></h1>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">BACKBONE MOUNTAIN, MD. &#8212; Maryland Natural Resources Police report that Andrew Scott Walker, of 260 Main Street in Westernport, Md., was arrested on Sept. 19, </span>2015<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, for violation of probation and motor vehicle charges. Walker was locked up after an Officer Walter May stopped him on Route 135 on Backbone Mountain for speeding.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><a href="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Dirtbag-Roundup.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-3295" src="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Dirtbag-Roundup-236x300.jpg" alt="Dirtbag Roundup" width="236" height="300" /></a>Andrew Scott Walker, 20, was pulled over for doing about 100 mph. While checking his record, the officer found he was wanted for a probation violation on a theft conviction and his driver’s license had been suspended.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Walker was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a court date.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Walker was charged on April 19, </span>2015<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, with burglary, disorderly conduct and theft by Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Lysinger. A welfare attorney has been assigned to defend him.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Walker entered a plea of guilty to theft charges on Oct. 21, </span>2014<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, in Allegany District Court and was fined zero dollars and sent to jail for 90 days with 88 days suspended. His probation period ends on Oct. 23, 2015. Probation means that the defendant has to obey all laws including not to steal or burglarize.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Court records for Allegany County show that the Allegany County States Attorney dropped charges of burglary and theft against Walker on Oct. 3, 2014.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Walker worked out a plea deal to property destruction on July 16, </span>2013<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, in Allegany County District Court with the assistance of the Public Defender, who doesn’t actually defend the public. The Maryland Public Defender’s Office gives a </span>free<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> criminal defense to those charged with crimes and the public pays for that defense. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On April 14, 2014, Walker entered a guilty plea to failing to comply with a Judge’s Peace Order to stop harassing a victim, and he was fined $200 but the fine was suspended and he was sent to jail for 90 days but the jail term was suspended in a deal approved by the Allegany County States Attorney.</span></p>
<h1><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Two men were charged in separate incidents in Savage River State Forest.</span></h1>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Tristen Charles Rolen Brittian, 19, of Greenbelt received citations for speeding and being in possession of an alcoholic beverage after he was stopped in the Bear Pen Run Natural Area of the forest. If found guilty on both charges, he could be fined as much as $590.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ryan Jeffrey Case, 24, of Shillington, Pa., received tickets for marijuana and alcohol possession after an officer noticed he was having trouble parking his car in the Whitewater camping area of the forest. If found guilty of both charges, he could be fined $75.</span></p>
