
The Iceman Cometh All Over the Highway
Chesterfield County- A man was injured Wednesday July 29, 2015 in a single vehicle crash in Chesterfield County. The crash occurred at approximately 11:19 a.m., on Interstate 95 just past Exit 61 (Hopewell).
The driver of the tractor trailer was Brian M. Whitfield, 33, of Petersburg. He and a passenger were transported with non-life threatening injuries. They both were wearing seat belts. Whitfield was charged with Reckless Driving and Driving on a Suspended Operators License.
Virginia State Police Trooper M. Ingram is investigating the crash, reports Sgt. Stephan Vick.
A 2005 International tractor trailer was traveling north on I-95 when it overturned on the driver’s side blocking all lanes of I-95. The truck was loaded with about nearly 35,000 pounds of dry ice. The truck was enroute from Hopewell to Harrisonburg. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
The driver of the 2005 International was transported to Chippenham Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
