When will State Department issue a crime warning for travelers to Baltimore the same as for Mexico and Bahamas?

Murder Rate Soars by 38% Baltimore Homicide & Shooting Gallery

BALTIMORE, MD.  With a soaring homicide rate for 2015 at 38 percent over 2014 thus far this year and murders reaching close to the 100 mark for the year, Baltimore nearly doubled the murder rate for the Bahamas. The U.K. and Canada have both issued violent crime warnings for travelers to the Bahamas. Many cruise ship passengers simply stay on ships that arrive at ports in the Bahamas.  Ironically, two ships from Baltimore make regular trips to the Bahamas.

MURDER USAThose who travel from the Port of Baltimore might be interested to note the crime map of the Baltimore Sun that shows one of the few places in the city not impacted by crime is the Port of Baltimore cruise parking lot, due to the fact that the parking lot is guarded by armed guards. However, travelers are still lured into visits to the Inner Harbor and have to travel through the high crime city of Baltimore to reach the port.

The following are the highlights of the shootings and killings reported by the Baltimore City Police over the last week.
