Police BeatCops Nab Gang of Three in Market Robbery

ELLICOTT CITY, MD. — Howard County Police report that they have arrested three suspects following the armed robbery two days earlier of International Halal Meat and Groceries in Ellicott City.

Christian Shawn Croston, 19, of 6567 Sweet Fern St. in Columbia, Lavelle R. Roe, 28, of 6 Monroe Field Ct. in Catonsville, and Antwan Jermaine White, 22, of 8908 Blade Green Ln. in Columbia, have been charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, theft, and the use of a firearm in a felony.

Police were called to the 8700 block of Town and County Boulevard at approximately 9:52 p.m. on April 27 for a report of an armed robbery in progress. Two suspects armed with handguns had entered the store, assaulted employees and demanded money. The suspects stole cash and fled.

While responding to the scene, a patrol officer observed a vehicle with occupants that matched the suspect description given by a reporting party and conducted a traffic stop in the Walmart parking lot. Officers took the driver and two occupants into custody. A fourth occupant fled the scene.

Croston, Roe and White are currently in the booking process and are being held on $100,000, no bond and $85,000 respectively.

The investigation is ongoing; police continue to search for the remaining occupant.
