<p>Officer Love has been with the department for two years. His primary function is to integrate traditional law enforcement activities, problem solving techniques; community oriented policing, and public relations in his everyday approach to the communities, which he serves.</p>
<p>Officer Love is currently assigned to Platoon Three Western District. He has jumped right into his chosen career of law enforcement. He aggressively patrols the areas he is assigned and gains knowledge of the community needs as well as learns if there is a criminal element in the area. He allows himself to be integrated into the communities he serves and gets to know the citizens on a first hand bases.</p>

<p>In the month of March 2015 there was a daytime burglary spree that had just started in the second week of the month in the Crofton Community. The suspects apparently were knocking on the front doors of residences and when no one answered would then force entry into the rear of the residence.</p>
<p>On March 13, 2015 he received a call for burglary at a residence in Crofton. He did an extremely large amount of leg work and community canvass in order to try and develop suspect(s). He was able to locate one witness who observed three suspects in front of the dwelling were the burglary occurred that appeared suspicious. He then located another witness who had a surveillance camera pointing possible towards the rear of the dwelling where the burglary occurred. After viewing the video he was able to locate a third witnesses who viewed the video from the surveillance camera and was able to identify one of the suspect. He was able then to identify the address were the suspect resided.</p>
<p>The information was then relayed to the District Detective Unit that able to obtain a search warrant based on Officer Love’s investigation. The result of the search warrant was the suspect was charged with burglary and additional property from three other burglaries committed in the community was recovered. The investigation is continuing and two additional suspects may be charged.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Officer Love was able to investigation another burglary that occurred in a different community in the month of March. The result was he was able to charge the victim’s teenage brother with the burglary and recover some of the property. The brother did not reside with the victim.</p>
<p>Officer Love’s tenacity and good old fashion police work lead to the arrest of one suspect and possibly two more that had started a pattern of burglaries in the Crofton Community. Also, property was recovered from several other burglaries. If it were not for his actions there is no telling how many more burglaries would have been committed before an arrest would have been affected and the spree put to a halt. Officer Love is truly deserving of the Officer of the Month for Western District for the month of March 2015.</p>
