Crews work a fatal MVA in the 1500 block of Walkers Ridge Road, around 1 AM crews were dispatched to this location to find the truck in flames after it hit a parked car!

     

Powhatan County- Virginia State Police report that a man that was killed early on April 5, 2015 in a single vehicle crash in Powhatan County has finally been identified.

The crash occurred at 12:43 a.m. when the man apparently lost control at a high rate of speed while driving on Walkers Ridge Road.

Police say that Logan Bagby, 22, of Powhatan, Virginia, was the driver and only occupant of a Ford Ranger pickup which was traveling north on Walkers Ridge Road when it ran off the road left struck a parked 2010 Toyota Corolla.

The speeding pickup continued on down a ravine and striking a tree at which point police say it caught fire and became fully engulfed and burning Bagby alive.

A positive identification is needed for an investigation and in cases like this can only be arrived at by precise forensic methods of the medical examiner’s office. This type of difficult probe often takes several weeks at the minimum.

Virginia State Police Trooper W. Boelt investigated the crash.

According to his Facebook page, Bagby had been a pizza delivery driver for several Powhatan pizza parlors and was a 2011 graduate of Powhatan High School.
