GLEN BURNIE, MD. Police say that a man walking on a bike trail was the victim of a brutal mugging near Ritchie Highway.

n March 16, 2015, at approximately 6:31 p.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the B&A bike trail located in the 7900 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie for a report of a robbery of a citizen that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 24-year-old male victim, who reported that he was walking on the bike trail between Norfolk Road and the Marley Station Mall when he was approached from behind by three male suspects. One of the suspects grabbed the victim from behind and put him in a choke hold. The suspect took the victim to the ground and all three suspects struck the victim numerous times by kicking and punching him. The suspects then went through the victim’s pockets, took his cellular phone and ran northbound on the trail. Responding officers, K-9, and the Aviation unit canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. Northern District Detectives responded to the scene to continue the investigation. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by fire personnel.

Suspects: Three Hispanic males in their teens to early 20’s.
