Corey M. Hall from Louisa County charged in felony hit and run on New Year’s Eve

LOUISA COUNTY, VA. – Jason L. King, 35, of Bumpass, Va., was killed on New Year’s Eve by a Louisa County man who is now behind bars after being arrested for the fatal hit and run.

Thanks to the tips and leads called in by the public, Virginia State Police Trooper B. J. Dibble was able to identify, locate and arrest Corey M. Hall, 20, of Louisa County Thursday evening on January 1, 2015.  Hall has been charged with Felony Hit and Run.

Police say that Trooper Dibble also recovered for evidence a 1994 Nissan Sentra belonging to Hall.

Virginia State Police say that King was killed New Year’s Eve in a single- vehicle crash in Louisa County and were notified at 10:52 p.m., of the crash which occurred on Route 605 (Willis Proffitt Road) one-half mile north of Route 33 (Jefferson Highway) in Louisa County.

Police noted that the striking vehicle was traveling south when the vehicle crossed into the northbound travel lane on Route 605, striking a pedestrian who was walking south on the northbound side. The vehicle is possibly a passenger car, light in color with front end damage, the vehicle did not stop. The roadway is not lit in this area.

Police say that King died at the scene.
