<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>ST. INIGOES, MD. – Maryland State Police report that o</strong>n Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2:39 pm, Tpr. A. Oyler responded to the 15000 block of Point Lookout Road for the report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that Daniel B. Evans, 27, of St. Inigoes, had struck a 5 year old male victim in the face and then grabbed him by the neck to strangle him. Evans then struck a 27 year old female victim who attempted to intervene. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">He subsequently began throwing furniture and broke a plastic chair. Evans was arrested for Second Degree Child Abuse, two counts of Second Degree Assault, and Malicious Destruction of Property. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">An assault charge brought against him on Aug. 20, 2012 was dropped on Oct. 11, 2012 by St. Mary’s County States Attorney Richard Fritz. In that case, Evans was represented by Public Defender Eric Sullivan (paid for by tax dollars).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On Aug. 14, 2014, a St. Mary’s County Grand Jury indicted Evans on charges of drug distribution with a jury trial set for Dec. 12, 2014 in St. Mary’s County Circuit Court.</span></p>
