Drug arrest of Devon William Jones

HERMANVILLE, MD. – Maryland State Police report that on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 10:53 am, Tpr. C. Ditoto initiated a traffic stop on a silver passenger car on Hermanville Road and Dixon Court for a minor traffic infraction.  A probable cause search was conducted, resulting in the recovery of CDS.

The driver, Devon William Jones, 20, of Lexington Park, was arrested and charged with CDS Possession – Marijuana.  He was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for processing and later released.

      Sharp not smart

LEXINGTON PARK, MD. – Police say that one man who tried to unload drugs was Sharp but apparently, his actions indicate he might not be smart. Police say that on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:49 am, Tpr. J. Quase initiated a traffic stop on a grey passenger car on Great Mills Road and Kay Drive for a minor traffic infraction.

The driver, Dimitri J. Sharp, 23, of Temple Hills, attempted to drop a small baggie containing CDS on the ground while speaking with Tpr. Quase.

Sharp was arrested and charged with CDS Possess – Not Marijuana and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.  He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

Too fast on curve with booze led to flight in chopper

CALIFORNIA, MD. – Maryland State Police report that on August 16, 2014 at approximately 9:21 pm, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack responded to the area of Rue Purchase Road, north of Dunleigh Drive for a reported motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

Preliminary investigation revealed a yellow and black 2003 Suzuki GSX-R 750 motorcycle, operated by Scott Lloyd-Owen, 25, of California, was traveling north on Rue Purchase Road.  Lloyd-Owen failed to properly negotiate a turn in the roadway, and the motorcycle traveled off the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Lloyd-Owen was ejected from the motorcycle.  Lloyd-Owen was transported via Trooper 7 to Prince George’s Shock Trauma Center with life threatening injuries.

Alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor in the accident.  TFC M. Pitcher is continuing the investigation of this accident.

According to Maryland court records, Lloyd-Owen was twice found guilty of speeding in Calvert County, Maryland last year. In one violation he was operating the same motorcycle on which he crashed on Aug. 16th.

Counterfeit Bills – On August 17, 2014 at 11:56 am, Tpr. D. Coppedge responded to the Family Dollar located in Lexington Park for the report of an attempt to pass a counterfeit one-hundred dollar bill.  A detailed description of the suspect and vehicle was obtained and transmitted to Tpr. K. Morris, who was in the area.  Tpr. Morris located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Three Notch Road and Old St. Andrew’s Church Road.

The suspect, Eugene Calvin Davis, 44, of Hyattsville, was arrested and charged with Currency: Manufacture/ Counterfeit.

A secondary search of Mr. Davis revealed he was carrying a total of eleven more counterfeit one-hundred dollar bills, all bearing the same serial number, in a hidden pocket of his wallet.   Davis was transported and held at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
