<h2>Why did this guy get away from Worcester and Wicomico Counties? <span style="font-size: 12pt;"><em>Prosecutors were dozing.</em></span></h2>
<p>SALISBURY, MD. &#8212; Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that on July 4, 2014 a wanted fugitive, John Oracio Simpson, 27, of Salisbury, Md. was extradited back to Wicomico County, Maryland following his apprehension in Suffolk County, NY.</p>
<p>Simpson had been wanted in Wicomico County on a Circuit Court Bench Warrant that had been issued back in March 2012 in a case where Simpson had been charged with Armed Carjacking.</p>
<p>Simpson had previously been featured as one of Wicomico County’s Most Wanted. Simpson was detained without bond in the Detention Center.</p>
<p>According to Maryland court records, Simpson had been convicted of armed carjacking on April 20, 2004 and sentenced to eight years in prison; and later released on probation, the terms of which he violated in 2011 after an evaluation report was issued by the Baltimore Substance Abuse Systems.</p>
<p>While a resident of the Department of Corrections at Jessup, Simpson had originated a court order to change his name, which a handy way to rid a convicted felon of a criminal record, and the court denied his request, citing his failure to provide a reason why he couldn’t afford the small fee needed to advertise such an action.</p>
<p>On Sept. 9, 2010, Simpson was charged with possession of marijuana in Ocean City, Md., which should have sent him back into prison as the charge was put on the “Stet” docket on June 8, 2011, which means he is supposed to obey all laws. Had the Worcester and Wicomico County States Attorneys actually been paying attention to the fact that Simpson was on probation for his conviction in the armed carjacking, he could have simply been held for a hearing for violating his probation and then swiftly returned to prison. One cannot imagine a prosecutor placing a charge on the &#8220;Stet&#8221; docket when a defendant failed to appear, thus, one should be able to figure that even in this computer age, the prosecutor had both Simpson and his criminal record in front of him when he made the decision to put the charge on the inactive docket, allowing a dangerous criminal to walk.</p>
<p>After being nabbed in New York and returned to Maryland, a hearing for his latest violation of probation which may transfer him from the Wicomico jail to the state prison, will be held on September 5, 2014.</p>

<p>Suspect: Christopher Michael Wolcott, 24, Salisbury, MD</p>
<p>On July 8, 2014 a deputy arrested <strong>Christopher Wolcott</strong> in connection with a burglary that occurred in 2011 in the 11000 block of Riverton Road in Mardela Springs. During the investigation of this crime, a deputy recovered what would be identified as dried blood from the broken glass where entry was made into the building. Copper wire and pipes were removed from the building during this incident.</p>
<p>On 7 July 2014 that blood collected from the crime scene was identified through DNA matching as coming from Christopher Michael Wolcott. The investigating deputy applied for and obtained a warrant for Wolcott’s arrest.</p>
<p>Following his apprehension and initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Wolcott in the Detention Center on a bond of $15,000.00. A District Court judge raised Wolcott’s bond the following day to $25,000.00 at bond review.</p>

<p>Eden, Md. Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that on 10 July 2014 a deputy arrested located and arrested a wanted fugitive, Howard William Jarrett Jr., 25, at an address in the 1000 block of McGrath Road in Eden.</p>
<p>Jarrett was wanted on a Circuit Court Bench Warrant that was issued after he violated the terms of his probation in a felony theft case. Upon arrest Jarrett was transported to the Detention Center where he was detained without bond.</p>

<h2> Donophan charged with attempted murder of girlfriend</h2>

<p>SALISBURY, MD. &#8212; According to the Wicomico County Sheriff, on July 11, 2014 at 1:42 AM, a deputy responded to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Beaglin Park Drive in Salisbury for a reported assault in progress.</p>
<p>Reports had come into the Sheriff’s Office of a male subject beating a female who was on the ground.</p>
<p>Upon the arrival of the deputy he observed a subject later identified as William Kyle Donophan, 23, of Delmar, Del., standing over a female who was not moving.</p>
<p>Upon realizing that a deputy had just arrived, Donophan attempted to walk away and hide. Upon the deputy engaging Donophan, he began to flee the area on foot. The deputy chased Donophan through the complex, across Beaglin Park Drive and onto the property of Parkside High School where the deputy caught up to and detained Donophan.</p>
<p>The victim was unconscious and suffering from trauma to her head. An ambulance transported the victim to PRMC. During the investigation, it was determined that Donophan struck and kicked the victim repeatedly in the head to the point where she collapsed and loss consciousness. It was also discovered that Donophan was the victim’s boyfriend.</p>
<p>Donophan was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Donophan in the Detention Center in lieu of $250,000.00 bond.</p>
<p>Charges: Attempted Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment and Resist Arrest</p>

<h2> Bruce Wayne Singleton Jr. charged with assault of wife after making her walk home from night out</h2>
<p>SALISBURY, MD. &#8212; According to Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis, on July 11, 2014 at 4:26 AM, a Wicomico County Sheriff&#8217;s deputy responded to PRMC to meet with the victim of an assault.</p>
<p>Upon arrival, the deputy learned that the victim had been involved in an altercation with her husband that escalated to an assault. The deputy learned that the altercation began when Bruce Wayne Singleton Jr., 31, of Salisbury left his wife at an establishment to walk home following an argument. According to the victim, upon reaching her residence, she was confronted by her husband who reportedly grabbed her by the throat and threw her on the floor.</p>
<p>According to the victim, her husband continued to grab her by the throat while repeatedly banging her head into the floor. The victim managed to summons help after Singleton released her which brought her to PRMC for treatment of lacerations to the head.</p>
<p>Singleton was placed under arrest and transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Singleton in the Detention Center in lieu of $150,000.00 bond.</p>
