LEONARDTOWN, MD. — 2014-04-22 —St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Capt. Daniel Alioto reports that Detectives identified Joseph Claude Birch Jr. (Age 37 of Lexington Park) as a distributor of prescription medication. Detectives made undercover purchases of pills that included “oxycodone” and “morphine” from Suspect Birch Jr. He was subsequently indicted and arrested.

Suspect Lawrence Edward Keister (Age 45 of Lexington Park) was identified as a distributor of pills and detectives were able to purchase “oxycodone” from him. He was charged accordingly.

Brendan Douglas Carr (Age 31 of Chaptico, Md.) was arrested on charges that included prescription fraud and altering a prescription. An additional unrelated warrant for theft was served as well. In that case Suspect Carr was using another person’s State of Maryland Independence Card (Subsistence Card).
