Born April 5, 1919, she was the daughter of Andrew Cerrell Beamer and Lena Josephine Elmore Beamer. Nancy lived in the Washington, DC area before marrying her first husband, Malvern E. Hannum, US Army, in 1937. They settled in Colorado. After his death in 1941, she moved back to DC, becoming employed at the Washington Navy Yard. In August of 1945, she married her second husband, Wayne W. Hardesty, who preceded her in death in February of 1987. She was also preceded in death by her daughters Annetta Dunlap, and Bonnie Haley as well as Great Grandson David Krankowski. After moving to Southern Maryland, Nancy became a homemaker whose main love was her family-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her sons, Robert Hardesty, of Mechanicsville, MD, and Malvern Hannum, of Bossier City, LA; daughters Deborah Myers, of Waldorf, MD, and Tammy Farmer, of Lexington Park, MD; brothers Alvin Beamer, of San Diego, CA and Wallace “Tee” Beamer of Odessa, FL, as well as 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Arrangements: To be held at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home,30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD (301)472-4400; Viewing at 5pm on Friday, August 30,2013 with service to follow at 7pm, same day. Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Nancy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
