The case of the midnight rapist; police seek clues

On July 28, 2014, at approximately 5:45 am, deputies responded to the 1700 block of Crimson Tree Way in Edgewood. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a 34 year old female victim.
The victim reported that at approximately 5:10 am, she headed downstairs to her kitchen when she saw a man in her dining room going through her purse. The suspect, described only as a male wearing all black, noticed the victim approaching. He subsequently grabbed her, hit her in the face, and began to sexually assault her.

In Cold Blood: Killer sought by cops in Salisbury home invasion-murder

When they arrived, troopers contacted the second victim who advised he had been assaulted with a blunt object. Troopers and officers continued to check the residence and found Donald Mariner injured. Emergency medical personnel were immediately requested. Once on the scene, medical personnel attempted to treat both victims. Mariner was pronounced dead by medical personnel, while the second victim was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment.
