Train hitchhiker hurt in fall; lessons needed in riding the rails

According to the PIO of the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, at 6:14 pm, the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company (JMVFC) was alerted for a patient who suffered a traumatic injury located on the CSX railroad tracks between Clayton Road and Raspe Lane in Joppa, Harford County.

When personnel arrived, they found an 18 year old male on the side of the tracks. All rail traffic was stopped. Paramedics and Firefighters quickly stabilized the seriously injured patient.

National Train Day is May 10th; Maryland politicians prevent trains from serving So. Md.

Maryland already has track use agreements with CSX in the rest of Maryland and already owns and operates the MARC train system. Other regions of Maryland get more for transportation than does Southern Maryland.

Rt. 301 to shut down at Upper Marlboro on April 11th for weekend of rail crossing repair

Anyone traveling southbound on Rt. 301 at Upper Marlboro where the CSX railroad crosses the highway would likely notice the pronounced bump in the road where the crossing is need of repair. It appears that the State Highway folks must have had a lot of irate motorists complaining and finally repairs are set to be made on April 11th, necessitating the closing of the entire highway for a weekend
