So. Maryland Police Beat: Super Weed in Room 120 of Super 8; Ernie Williams packing pills and DUI arrests

PRINCE FREDERICK — When staying in a cheap motel, pot-heads might want to consider that the inexpensive construction of the building will allow the aroma of their high-dollar weed to weep out into the hallway. But then, they are likely devoid of all good judgment anyway. Maryland State Police report that on 11/18/14 at 5:37 pm, Trooper First Class Casarella responded to the Super 8 Motel in Prince Frederick for a possible CDS activity complaint. The odor of burnt marijuana was emitting in the hallway on the first floor. It was strongest outside Room 120. The occupants, Bentley M. Hutchison, 22 of Front Royal, VA, and Robert F. March, 40 of Manassas, VA, were issued Civil Citations for Possession of Marijuana Less than 10 grams.

PRESTON, MD. – Caroline County Sheriff’s Deputies made an arrest of a man responsible for a heroin overdose death, that of the suspect’s brother.

On September 3, 2014 Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division, responded to a residence in the 7000 block of Ganeys Wharf Road, Preston, Maryland, for a cardiac arrest, which resulted in the death of Eric Pattison Matzeit (31 years old).

The initial investigation indicates that the victim and a friend were walking west on Obrecht Rd from Jumpers Hole Rd. They were walking along the edge of the westbound lane of Obrecht Rd when the victim was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle continued traveling west and did not stop and remain at the scene after the collision.

The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma by Anne Arundel County Paramedics due to life threatening injuries. At this time, his condition has improved and he is listed in critical, but stable condition.

On October 17, 2014, Jose Pineda, a substitute teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools was charged with one count of Third Degree Sex Offense. Since that arrest three more victims have come forward with similar allegations.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:44 AM, the suspect used a victim’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases at the 7-11 store located at 29969 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall. The suspect is possibly operating or being transported in the light blue Chevrolet pickup truck pictured below.

Former Baltimore Police Officer Lamin Manneh Sentenced to 21 Months in Prison for Operating a Prostitution Business

According to Manneh’s indictment and information presented at court hearings, from February to May 9, 2013, Manneh operated a prostitution business with over 300 customers. Manneh’s 19 year old wife and another 19 year old woman worked as prostitutes for Manneh. The government alleges that as part of his business, Manneh wrote, paid for and posted more than 50 prostitution ads for the two women on Internet websites; rented an apartment and hotel rooms for clients; and drove the women to residences and hotel rooms specified by clients.
