The victim stated that he was approached by two individuals, one of which the victim met days prior, and the two invited the victim to join them at a party.
“Everybody probably would have died except for the fact that the U.S. Capitol Hill Police were there and the only reason they were there was because we had a member of (House) leadership on our team,” Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul told MSNBC.

All victims were transported to an area hospital where a 26-year-old male victim and a female victim was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy was completed and it revealed severe head trauma. The injuries were not consistent with a fall and the evidence at the scene. The case was ruled a homicide by multiple blunt force trauma to the head.
