<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="1"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The man who shot and killed a Prince George&#8217;s County police officer who was trying to help a neighbor during a domestic situation was surrounded by police at his home just days before, according to court documents.</span></p>
<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="2"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Glenn Tyndell&#8217;s estranged wife filed charges against him on Feb. 20, two days before police say Tyndell fatally shot <a href="https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Officer-Mujahid-Ramzziddin-Funeral-474929513.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cpl. Mujahid Ramzziddin</a>. In the documents, she says police surrounded their home in Brandywine, Maryland, on Feb. 15, but left after trying for two hours to get him out of the house. </span></p>
<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="3"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Tyndell&#8217;s wife said in the police report that about 12:15 a.m. she came home after filing assault charges against Tyndell and saw him at the door armed with a shotgun. After explaining to him that he was scaring their two children and persuading him to let her go, she left with the kids and went to the neighborhood&#8217;s clubhouse down the street to call 911.</span></p>

<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="6"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A few days later, Tyndell, 37, <a href="https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Prince-Georges-County-Officer-Injured-in-Brandywine-Shooting-474718703.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shot Ramzziddin multiple times</a> as the officer tried to help Tyndell&#8217;s estranged wife. Tyndell died hours later after exchanging gunfire with officers.</span></p>
<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="7"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Tyndell had three open warrants for assault. Court records show he was arrested for violating a protective order in March 2013 and arrested for assault in September 2010.</span></p>

Audio and video captured by a home security system corroborate 5 shots were fired. The following day, search teams recovered a shotgun which was subsequently identified as the weapon Tyndell used to kill Sgt. Ramzziddin. Tyndell discarded the shotgun in a nearby creek. </span></div>

<div><span style="font-size: 12pt;">After killing Sgt. Ramzziddin, Glenn Tyndell then stole Ramzziddin’s department issued firearm from his person. No shell casings fired from that weapon were found at the crime scene on Chadsey Lane. Sgt. Ramzziddin never fired his weapon before he was killed.</span></div>

Tyndell was killed in an exchange of gunfire with Prince George’s County Police Officers Reed and Allen. Tyndell’s body was found holding Sgt. Ramzzidddin’s gun. </span></div>
