<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">CHARLOTTE HALL, MD. – As the hit parade of pills, pot, and hard-core drugs, including heroin, firmly take hold among the dumb and the desperate – intent on one thing – a cheap high, law officers are increasingly finding the near-dead passed out from overdoses in vehicles.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on December 31, 2017, Dep. Edwards observed a parked vehicle near the McDonald’s, in Charlotte Hall, with the occupants slumped over inside the vehicle. ;</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">While Dep. Edwards was checking their welfare, she observed a glass jar containing suspected marijuana under the operator, Marlee Lynn Stokes&#8217; left leg. ; A passenger in the vehicle, Robert Gary Lyon Jr., 35, of 23544 Hurry Road, Clements, Md., was observed to have a syringe cap on his person, as well as three syringes under the seat where he was sitting. Stokes was removed from the car at which time it was discovered she had numerous prescription pills on her person in a plastic container and a metal tin.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> The Sheriff says the deputy also discovered cut-up</span> drinking straws containing a white powdery residue. Marlee Lynn Stokes, 32, of 25445 Budds Creek Road, Clements, Md., was charged with CDS: Possession Not Marijuana, and CDS: Possession Paraphernalia. Lyon Jr. was charged with CDS: Possession. After he was booked and released through the revolving door of the District Court Commissioners, Lyon filed for a free taxpayer-provided<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> public defender. Lyon faces a trial in St. Mary’s District Court on Feb. 15, 2018.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Lyon was arrested on Jan. 2, 2018, by Maryland State Police Trooper Christopher DiToto for driving without a license while northbound on Rt. 235 at Jones Wharf Road in a 1992 Nissan. Lyon was also cited for driving while suspended and failing to attend the driver improvement program.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Stokes might be heading towards her own curriculum in the Driver Improvement Program after she was cited by Maryland State Trooper J. Oles on Jan. 7, 2018, at 10:21 pm Rt. 231 with multiple traffic tickets for negligent driving in a careless and imprudent manner, endangering property, life, and person in a 2005 Honda Civic.</span></p>
