<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">WHITE OAK, MD. &#8212; Love hurts, especially when a woman is beaten to death by her lover. On Nov. 4, 2017, Chaunya Blackwell posted on her Facebook page a photo of Lasagna she had made with this message: “Had to make him Lasagna for his birthday!”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Three days after telling the world about the great birthday dinner she had made her boyfriend, she was dead, and he was standing in the yard awaiting the arrival of police that he had called to report her brutal murder at his hands.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Division continues to investigate the domestic-related homicide that occurred at a residence at 11005 Bradbury Manor Court in the White Oak area of Silver Spring, Md.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">The homicide victim is identified as Chaunya Michalyn Blackwell, age 43.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The suspect is identified as 50-year-old Anthony Miguel Strong.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Preliminary investigation indicates that Strong and Blackwell were dating and shared the Bradbury Manor Court home.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">At approximately 6:48 this morning, Strong called the Emergency Communications Center (911) and stated that he had killed his</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">girlfriend, identified as Blackwell and that he was currently outside of his residence. Officers responded to the home located in the 11000 block of Bradbury Manor Court and located Strong outside of the home. He was taken into custody without incident.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Officers located Blackwell deceased inside of the home with apparent trauma to her body. Blackwell’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore who will</span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> determine the cause of her death.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Department urges anyone with information about this homicide to contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong was charged with first-degree murder by Detective D. Mackie.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong was ordered on Aug. 11, 2017, to pay his arrears in child support in Prince George’s County Circuit Court and pay $708 per month.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong was found guilty of assault and battery by Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Paul McGuckian on May 31, 1996, along with possession of drugs. He was given 31 days in jail. </span></p>
