MURDER USA Harold Garnett dead;
Vidal Flores Cuchillas in jail after stabbing in bar fight

CENTREVILLE, VA. – Fairfax County Police report that a man was stabbed to death in a fight at a bar. Police say that a 27-year-old man has died from injuries he sustained in a late-night bar fight outside Velocity 5 in Centreville. Officers were called to the 5800 block of Trinity Parkway around 2:15 on Nov. 4, 2017, for a possible stabbing. They found Harold Garnett, of Centreville, with wounds to his upper body. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and was expected to survive. His condition worsened throughout the day and he was pronounced dead in the evening of November 4th.
Last night, responding officers

immediately saturated the area, and one of our K-9 units located the suspect in bushes nearby. Vidal Flores Cuchillas, 38, of Centreville, was arrested and taken to the Adult Detention Center where he is being held without bond. He was originally charged with malicious wounding, but now that Garnett has died, detectives will be meeting with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney to amend the charge.
Garnett was charged with being drunk in public by Fairfax Police Officer D. G. Granofsky on April 3, 2017, and failed to appear in court, resulting in being tried in absentia. He was fined $50.00, which he never paid and now never will. An HOV violation on Feb. 26, 2016, resulted in a fine of $125.00.
Flores Cuchillas was also charged with being drunk in public on Sept. 25, 2016, by Officer J. E. Reichel, and also failed to appear in court. He was found guilty in absentia and fined $50.00 which was never paid.
Garnett’s friends immediately began to express sentiments on Facebook with one person noting that he didn’t even know Garnett had a Facebook account but posted ‘now you’re gone’.
Velocity Five is a sports bar with two locations, the one at the scene of the murder in Centreville, and another in Sterling, Va.
Antonio Starr posted on Facebook: “People dying should teach everyone a lesson that life is short. Love your loved ones close and make sure your last words are your best words because they really could be your last words. Love everyone and live life to be happy and make those around you happy.” #LongLiveHarold
The family of Garnett opened a GoFundMe page to raise money to pay for a funeral.
My name is Marta and I’m writing this on behalf of my family:
On November 4th, we lost an all-around amazing person. There are no words to properly describe him for he is so many things. He was, kind, funny, smart and had a big life ahead of him. Most of all he was loved by everyone who knew him. One looked at his smile and you knew it will make your day… “to know him was to love him and his smile was just amazing, and he always had a glow in his eyes!”. Much like there are no words to describe the magnificent person we lost, there is no way to describe how our family feels.
We cannot express how deeply he was loved by us and everyone around him. We are truly and deeply saddened by our loss. We all are hurting and handling things the way we know how to. Some go to Facebook to pay their respects and pictures in kind words. Some sit quietly trying to process their loss. We all are grieving his loss.
Myself, his dad, his mom, his grandmothers, his brother, his sisters, his son, his cousins and of all his friends and family. We want our family and friends to find peace and hope that by hosting a Celebration for Harold will give him a life with wings in heaven!
All prayers and donations are beyond and greatly appreciated!!
-Much love and prayers from my family to yours!
