<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Michael Thompson (DOB 03/08/1990) entered a guilty plea in Baltimore City Circuit Court to first-degree murder on September 5, 2018, and picked up a life sentence plus sixty years. Also, a guilty plea to the use of a firearm in a violent crime by a convicted felon. Gregory Fisher was the public defender on the case.</h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Baltimore Police report that on August 8, 2017, at about 10:02 p.m., police were flagged down by a citizen who reported a robbery and shooting at the Dollar General store located in the 4500 block of Edmondson Avenue.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">When officers entered the store, they discovered a 54-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The victim was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">In reference to the homicide that occurred on August 8, 2017, in the 4500 block of Edmondson Avenue, the victim has been identified as 54-year-old Deric Ford Sr. (B/M) of the 3600 block of Edmondson Avenue.</span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Only in Baltimore can an 18-year-old be a repeat offender with a gun</h2>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Baltimore City Police report that on August 8, 2017, at approximately 9:56 p.m., District Action Team detectives were in the 1600 block of Cliftview Avenue when they observed a group of males involved in a dice game.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Once detectives exited their vehicles, a male, later identified as 18-year-old Davonta McCrorey attempted to flee the area on foot.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Following a brief foot pursuit, officers arrested Davonta McCrorey of 2745 Alameda St., Baltimore, Md.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Seized from McCrorey was a loaded handgun and suspected marijuana.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives transported Davonta McCrorey to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with gun and drug violations.</span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Repeat Violent Offender Arrested for Attempted Murder</h2>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On August 7, 2017, Warrant Apprehension Detectives arrested 38-year-old Carlton Whitaker of the 1600 block of Darley Avenue.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Whitaker was arrested for the shooting that occurred on September 18, 2016, in the 2100 block of Aiken Street.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives transported Carlton Whitaker to Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.</span></p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Eastern District Non-Fatal Shooting Investigation</h3>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On September 18, 2016, at approximately 6:28 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 2100 block of Aiken Street for a report of a shooting.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Upon the officer’s arrival, they located the victim, a 19-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle.</span></p>



<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.</span></p>
