<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">ATLANTIC, VA. – A teenage driver who police say was speeding killed one of his passengers, injured two others and himself in a wreck in Accomack County, Virginia.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corrine Geller reports that Trooper R.J. Dougherty is investigating a single-vehicle crash in Accomack County. The crash occurred at 10:40 p.m., Dec. 16, 2016, on Atlantic Road, less than a mile south of Bowden Lane, just south of Atlantic, Va.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south on Atlantic Road. As it came through a curve, the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, spun around and struck a tree head-on.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The driver, a 17-year-old male of Parksley, Va., was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Speed is being investigated as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.</span></p>
