From News4 in Washington:
Multiple people have been injured Wednesday night after a “possible explosion” at an apartment building in Silver Spring, Maryland, fire officials say.
Montgomery County Fire and EMS spokesman Pete Piringer tweeted firefighters are making “numerous rescues” in the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road where there are heavy fire conditions at an apartment building.
Piringer said multiple people are injured, including several firefighters. Some of the injured are burned.
Firefighters have reported that part of a building has collapsed and the debris indicates a possible explosion, Piringer said.
Piringer said it is a natural gas fed fire and power lines nearby have also been affected.
