  • The operator of the 2005 Harley Davidson, Jeremiah Tomlin, 38, of North Dinwiddie County, Va., was charged with Driving under the Influence and transported to the Chesterfield County Jail where he is being held without bond.

DWI HIT PARADE: DUI Pair Racing Donorcycles on I-295 Crash; Only One Died

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY- Virginia State Police report that two men were racing motorcycles in a high-speed booze cruise crashed, leaving one of the racers dead.

State Police Spokesman Sgt. Stephan Vick reports that one man was killed on Aug. 2, 2016, in the crash in Chesterfield County which occurred at 11:30 p.m., on Interstate 295 southbound, 500 feet north of Route 10.

Virginia State Police BeatVirginia State Police Senior Trooper Z. Grey is investigating the crash.

A 2012 Harley Davidson and a 2005 Harley Davidson were traveling south on Interstate 295 at a high rate of speed when both operators lost control and crashed. The operator of the 2012 Harley Davidson was thrown from the motorcycle that was traveling I-295 south and landed onto the road below. (Route 10)

The operator of the 2012 Harley Davidson, Dennis Painter, 44 of Hopewell, Va., died at the scene; his helmet was not a DOT approved helmet.
