<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Worcester County Sheriff reports that on February 22, 2016, at about 1:20 p.m. the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office responded to Greenbackville Road near Ticktown Road in Stockton for a motor vehicle crash involving pedestrians.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police say that the preliminary investigation indicated that two Worcester County Public Works Roads Division employees were working on the side of Greenbackville Road. A 2010 Kia traveling south on Greenbackville Road was attempting to pass around the work area. The operator swerved back into its lane to avoid an oncoming vehicle. The Kia drove through the work area and struck the two Worcester County Employees. One of the workers was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second worker was transported by the Maryland State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the Kia was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury and was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><a href="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//2014/05/12/calvert-wrong-way-race-rt-4-ended-life-fleeing-dare-devil-crash-ends-racing-career/news-with-an-impact/" rel="attachment wp-att-3869"><img class="alignleft wp-image-3869 size-medium" src="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/05/News-with-an-Impact-300x235.jpg" alt="News with an Impact" width="300" height="235" /></a>The Worcester County government provided the names of the two employees and this statement:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">&#8220;The Worcester County flag flies at half-mast outside the Government Center in Snow Hill today to honor Public Works Roads Worker Scott Tatterson who was struck by a vehicle and killed while working in the area of Greenbackville Road in Stockton Monday, February 22,&#8221; the statement reads. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">&#8220;Our thoughts and <a href="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//2016/02/23/manslaughter-charges-possible-for-work-zone-killer-motorist-plowed-into-two-worcester-road-workers/slow-down-in-work-zones/" rel="attachment wp-att-10676"><img class="alignleft wp-image-10676" src="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Slow-down-in-work-zones-300x169.png" alt="Slow down in work zones" width="233" height="135" /></a>prayers are with Wade Pusey who was also struck and is under active medical care. <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police have not yet released the name of the driver.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.</span></p>
